Background and experience

I graduated with a BSc in Building Surveying in 2020. Since then I have worked on residential and commercial repair and refurbishment projects, from single-room repairs to full strip-outs and refits.

A big part of my work involves running many live projects at once. That means writing scopes of work, checking builders' pricing, reviewing defects and keeping jobs moving to programme. It is practical, day-to-day surveying, and it is the experience behind every document I produce for clients.

How I work

When you instruct Declan Green Building Surveying, you deal with me directly. I carry out the inspections and write the reports myself, so the person you speak to is the person doing the work. Prices are fixed and agreed in writing before anything starts, and reports are delivered in plain English, in editable formats you own.

Working with a chartered partner firm

I am not RICS chartered, so I do not carry out RICS Level 2 or Level 3 surveys, homebuyer surveys or party wall awards, and my dilapidations work is a technical review to support negotiation rather than expert witness work. Where a job needs a report signed off by a RICS chartered surveyor, I work with a chartered partner firm that can provide that sign-off.
